DEEP-X 200
The DEEP-X 200 is one of Yuki Ito’s favorite lures in his 30+ year career as a lure designer. The DEEP-X 200 exhibits multifaceted performance and versatility for underwater games in many fields, excelling as a crankbait, a flatside shad, at times a diving minnow, and at times a vibration bait that searches a dedicated range.
The uniquely evolved form of this DEEP-X 200 features further refinements from the previous model. In addition to the high pitch vibrations, the angle of the head amplifies its sharp, rolling action. It emits intense high pitch flashing and impactful vibrations.
The astonishing flight distance of the slim-bodied 200, made possible by the LBO II, defies expectation. The ultra-long-distance casting performance easily outpaces a typical crankbait, demonstrating the far-reaching explosive performance of this extraordinary crankbait.
Tackle Otaku - "The 200LBO is a perfect do everything crankbait when you're not really sure what the fish are doing or where they're positioned. It casts great, and is relatively silent, and it gives a very lifelike look underwater and doesn't have to grind bottom or deflect to trigger strikes.
This is extremely useful when you're just casting around trying to figure them out! I find that clear to clear-ish water is the best for this bait."
DEEP-X 200T
The Megabass Deep-X 200T is a minnow shaped, 72mm, 14.2grams, floating, crankbait fishing lure that is designed for deep diving action.
The lure comes equipped with a wide, roundish profiled bib that is almost half its body length (35mm), making it dive up to 15ft and produce a wide and vigorous wobbling action.
The Deep-X 200T shares the same weight transfer system as the rest of the Megabass Deep-X series of crankbaits. It comes equipped with a tungsten moving balancer system that is located in its dorsal section that runs in a grooved channel from head to tail.
This feature not only ensures that this crankbait casts well with the balancer shifting its centre of gravity the rear, it also enables the lure to dive quickly once it hits the water as the balancer rolls forward and falls into a central well located close to the gill plates of the lure.
What however makes the Deep-X 200T different from the rest of the crankbaits in the Deep-X series is its minnow shape (vis-à-vis the bulky tear drop shaped profile typical of crankbaits). What this achieves is to cut down water resistance allowing the lure to dive more rapidly over a shorter length of retrieve to get to the strike zone faster.
The lure incorporates two tungsten balancers in its belly cavity that is able to move laterally from side-to-side that not only helps to accentuate it wobbling action, it also acts as a central balancer to keep this crankbait on an even keel when it is retrieved on a fast crank.
The Megabass Deep-X 200T is best worked on a moderate-pause crank retrieve pattern, to allow it to get to its intended depth and hit bottom to allow its bib to stir up silt and cause commotion. One retrieving is stopped, the lure floats up, ready for its next dive, making this lure irresistible to fish whose attention have been caught by the action and rattle of the lure.

LBO II (PAT.)
1. Equipped with the LBO system, the maximum casting distance is increased by 20% (With Megabass Products).
2. The inertial impact generated by the super-low resistance weight.
3. The devastating action response that allows for instant swimming.
MOMENTARY ACTION
The weight unit with internal bearings is instantly guided into place by the neodymium magnetic field towards the front, initiating actions when the retrieve begins.
SHAFT BALANCER SYSTEM
The low center of gravity weight unit plays the role of a shaft balancer, combining the power point and action point for excellent responsiveness, creating high pitch rolling action with intense flashing.
History of MEGABASS
The birth of Megabass in the U.S. is the stuff of legend, involving a cross-country trek in the early 90’s, in which the Megabass designer/CEO Yuki Ito challenged pro staff of local stores and area pros to one-on-one fishing duels. The rules were simple: if Yuki Ito won, the store had to buy his lures; if the U.S. angler won, then Yuki had to buy local tackle from the store. This “put your money where your mouth is” approach, combined with the quality and flat out fish-catching ability that was evident in Yuki’s handcrafted Megabass equipment, succeeded in convincing stores to take on this premium imported tackle.
Today Megabass still embodies that daring spirit. Each product is a painstaking marriage of handmade form and technological innovation. Megabass strives to capture the same care, quality, and attention to detail embodied by the handmade tradition. In a modern age dominated by CAD and mass production, every Megabass lure is based on a hand-carved Yuki Ito original. Each stage of the development process is closely monitored with exacting quality controls to ensure that the mechanical process of production does not whitewash the integrity of the original.
Little has changed since Megabass’ birth in a garage in 1986 at the hands and ideals of Yuki Ito. Today Megabass continues this tradition of innovation, quality, and custom handicraft, never losing sight of the angler’s hands for which each Megabass® product is painstakingly made.
Formed in 2013, Megabass of America, Inc. is a subsidiary of Megabass, Inc., and is responsible for brand strategy, product development, sales, and marketing in North America, and sales and business development in Central America, South America, and Africa.
